The Shiraz walking trial or bike trial goes from Willunga through to Hallett Cove. This is a very scenic walk, picturesque, many hills, vineyards, creeks and upon arriving at Seaford Rise a fantastic view of the ocean.

Southport Beach.SA.

Well, we have some stunning beaches in South Australia, particularly Christies, Port Noarlunga, SOUTHPORT, Moana, Normanville & Port Elliot. Of course Southport is our Surf Life Saving Club and our favourite!!!

Looking South from our club, look at all the colours in the cliffs.

                                                  Looking North from Southport Club.

A nice little wave coming in.

Steve up on the deck at Southport Club.

Onkaparinga River, we walk across the foot bridge to get to Southport SLSC.

You can see the colours in the cliff's better on this one.

Mclaren Vale 1 & Moana IRB.

It is recorded that Mclaren Vale was named after David Mclaren, who was the Colonial Manager of the South Australia Company and David arrived in the Colony in 1837 and left 3 years later. How ever some say it is named after a Scotsman John Mclaren who surveyed the area in 1839. My thoughts are it was named after the surveyor!!!
Two small villages were formed, Gloucester & Bellevue in the 1840's by migrants from Britain. In 1923 buildings stated to merge from the two villages adopting the name of the valley.
This area has always been know for grape growing. As early as 1850 the historic Hardy & Seaview wineries were in operation. It is well known that Thomas Hardy's purchase of Tintara vineyard in 1853 is the symbolic beginning of the town. Mclaren Vale has approximately 2000 resident's.
