Hong Kong. The End of our around the world Tour.

This trip around the World in 80 days, has been truly amazing. Our final stop off did not disappoint either. Loved Hong Kong, so safe, very easy to get around, so much to see and if you love shopping this is the place for you.
We were extremely busy with 2 Sampan rides, 4 ferry crossing's, 2 cable car trips, 2 funicular trips, 3 underground rides, 3 coach tours and lots of walking. We did the Ladies market and the night markets. The food was not for me, I would just look at a menu and feel sick, however Steve loved the food, although he stayed away from some of the more obscure food (to us). Steve felt like a giant as when standing on the train, he could see over every one! I actually felt tall to,but also felt obese, as the seats etc are all made narrower!

Tung Chung Area Bay- where the cable car ride begins.

A bridge to an underground tunnel, so the ships can keep travelling.

A small waterfall in the Lantau South Country.

Steve with the Chinese drums.

This Cable car trip is visually spectacular.

It was a very long cable car trip.(5.7km)

Me with different Chinese drums.

Looking out to some Islands in the South China sea.

The main area in Ngong Ping village.

Me.

Steve in the main street of Ngong Ping village.

Ngong Ping Village occupies 1.5 hectares, this themed Chinese-style village is located near the cable car terminal and encapsulates the culture integrity of this area.

The Big Buddha.

Po Lin Monastery.

Us.

The climb to the big Buddha in 32 degrees and 88% humidity.

Note the details - someone riding a chicken!

First five priest's (Buddha's).

Po Lin Monastery.

Amazing.

The workmanship & colours.

Each pillow was identical.

Sculptures were incredible.

The locals came for a drink.

Another ride on the underground to Hong Kong Island, for a little more sight seeing.

The Hong Kong observation wheel.

Financial district.

Star Ferry.

IFC Tower.

Very bling.

One of the old trams still in use.

Panoramic views from the Victoria Peak.

Steve.

Me at Victoria Peak.

Peak Trams.

Bamboo scaffolding, looks pretty scary and unsafe! Apparently it has been used for years, its light and environmentally friendly.

Our Sampan Captain.

Views of life on the water.

Rickety old boats.

'Jumbo' Floating restaurant.

Steve on the ferry.

The convention centre or a bit like a mini opera house.

Oh yes - us on the Sampan Ride.

Sampan.

Imagine living here?

On the Sampan in front of the floating restaurant.

This floating restaurant has seen many celebrity's (The Queen, Margaret Thatcher to name a few)and now it has also seen us!

Fish hung out to dry.

Steve's lunch at the floating restaurant.

Posh tea pots around here.

Stunning Mosaic on the wall.

Me not feeling dressed, for this posh establishment.(oh, well no one knows me).

One of the free ferry's that takes you to Jumbo restaurant.(we think they were free as we didn't pay).

Ladies Markets.

A shortage of space in Hong Kong, so 5 restaurants on top of each other, then a hair dressers, billiard rooms.

Steve on the last Night at The Salted pig.

Bridges everywhere in Hong Kong.

Another Bridge.

Maybe A bridge to far? lol

We loved Hong Kong and would highly recommend it. Could not fault it.
