Bamurru & Area. NT. (12)

A couple of maps, of Swim Creek Station & surrounding area, which is home to Bamurru  Wilderness Lodge. Bamurru (means wild Geese ).

Mary River full of Saltwater Crocs.

Our camp for the night at Couzens look out.

Steve at Mary River.

The view from Couzens Lookout.

Lotus Lilly.

We decided to take the 32Km 4WD track back to Point Stuart Road. This drive was extremely pretty, the area had been recently burnt, however the patches of different colours, the orange dry leaves, with burnt black bark and sandy dirt. We would come across very green pockets of vegetation.

A good track. (Most of the way)

Still burning.

Dry burnt crisp leaves & blacken bark.

The track gets narrower.

Connellan Lagoon.

The above Lagoon was full of Bird life and as I approached I scared a large Croc!!!

We also saw a Dingo in this area.

Back at Bamurru...........

At the infinity pool.

Steve & I took a drive out to the bone yard. (Where the dead buffalo & other animal's are taken to).

Twins!

Fisher Billabong, a nice way to end our day. This is a permanent water source and a 4 metre croc resides here.

After 6 months and I still love the Buffalo. Getting hot and dry now, not a lot of food around, so pandanus leaves for dinner!

Sorry more sunsets!

How cute.

Follow the leader.

Yes I know but stunning.

The staff had half a day off  & Cam took us on a fishing trip/jolly.

Our first trip to mouth of the Mary River- so exciting!

Looks stunning, if only there wasn't crocs everywhere!

Steve & I.

Brandon & Jenny. (Work Colleagues/friends).

Cam an amazing guide & sincere friend.

Steve, Brandon & Jenny out on the Ocean.

Brandon has a fish on!!!

A Golden Cat Fish.

Estuarine Crocodile.

The stunning Jabiru.

Another Croc...

Another day at Bamurru, Cam needed to see if he could still manage a few more Air boat tours for our guest's. Steve stayed on land, in case we got stuck. I went with Cam for my last Air boat ride of the season.

The mice made a nest in one of our Air Boats.

The Wetlands are drying, very muddy and not so pretty now.

A few more bumps now.

Steve waiting to rescue us if needed.

Pretty pockets can still be found.

Pelicans.

I have seen a lot of Pelicans, never in these huge numbers, they must like the muddy, shallow waters.

Very green.

Oh No- Cam gave the call "Hold on, we have no steering"

Cam fixing the steering linkage.

Deer.

At Bamurru we have 6 full time guides. Our youngest guide is Caleb and what an amazing young man. Caleb is just 17 years old. The guests love him and all the staff love him. He has a lot of knowledge about the area, animal's & vegetation. Caleb adds his own story's and history to his tours.

Caleb showing our guests, which tree the didgeridoo comes from and  telling his own family story about the didge.

Caleb showing guests how to play the Didge. (Caleb made this Didgeridoo).

A witchery grub nest.

Look at this new baby.

Caleb with his sunset drinks presentation.

Caleb entertaining the guests whilst they enjoy the sunset out at Pandanus point.
