We have been on cyclone watch now for a week. Cyclone Dylan is on its way, today we had the bad news, we will not get it, it is expected to hit Townsville & South, tomorrow morning (Friday 31st Jan). So we have had king tides and even had a bit of surf at four mile beach, although no beach at present. I had the day off today so have been for a walk around town to see what is happening.
The topography is stunning around here, every way you look.
Four Mile Beach, with a king tide.
King tide and a little surf (very rare here).
Steve on the Life Guard Tower, but where has the beach gone??
Another day and another King Tide.
Still no beach.
Pretty.
"Dragons tongues"
Four Mile beach from Flagstaff Hill.
A view of the other side.
Nice.
If this is all we have, if we do get a cyclone, I don't fancy our chances much!!!
The Old Court House (Now the museum) the oldest building in Port Douglas.
Part of the fore shore.
Pretty.
The Old Wharf, which Steve has canoed under, but not on a king tide.
Not sure the swings are a safe play area, on a King Tide.
St Marys by the sea.
The place to get married, apparently.
Looking at the marina from the old wharf.
