Narawntapu National Park (1) - Tasmania

This national park is a place for peace and wildlife. It stretches from the low coastal Asbestos Range, to the  long Bass Strait beaches. This park includes a complex of inlets, small islands, headlands, dunes & lagoons. A fabulous place to see lots of bird life and wildlife. Forester Kangaroos, Bennett's Wallabies, Pademelons, Wombats, Tassie Devils & Snakes ! A beautiful place to spend some quiet time!

What a cutie!

Arrrhhhhh

Swamp land.

Swamps.

Springlawn Lagoon.

A bushy canopy with nothing on the thin trunks.

Bakers Beach.

Badgers Head.

Bakers Beach and the Lagoon's.

Chain of Lagoons.

Looking through the grass to the hills.

Look at this little fellow, sunning himself.

Steve in the dunes, boy it was hot in here!

The sand dunes.

Lush.

The bird hide, with the sun reflecting on the roof.

This copperhead was eating another copperhead.

The pale copperhead was actually bigger than the one eating it!

See the dark one eating the pale one.

Zoom in and have a look.

Needless to say, this was a slow process, apparently the pale one did put up a fight and we believe the dark Copperhead Snake realized he could not eat something this big! What ever happened the dark snake regurgitated the light snake!  Under the bridge this morning we have seen both snakes, not eating each other (Apparently this is common with Copperheads). Maybe they will live in harmony together!
