We head out of Port Douglas marina to the jewel of the GBR, the Low Isles, made up of Low Island & Woody Island. Woody Island definitely looked like Croc country to us!!
One hour after we set sail, the sails are down and we suit up for snorkelling, we take the guided tour for 1 hour of enjoyment. Turtles are every where, lots of various corals, sea cucumbers, star fish, Sharks, giant Clams, Bat fish, Angel Fish, Yellow tailed Jacks, Sargent Majors and lots of other Marine life.
Looks calm in the marina.

We enjoy the easy pace of the interpretive Island walk, inspecting the historical Lighthouse.
This Lighthouse was build in 1878 and was the first lighthouse in FNQ. Originally fired by oil, then Kerosene and later diesel generators. The lighthouse was automated by a solar power beacon and the last light house keeper departed in 1993.This is a delightful little Island and turtles can been seen from the beach or if you stand in the water will just mosey along by, they are not shy.
Some passengers take the glass bottom boat back to the sailing boat, we take a long leisurely snorkel, floating over cleaning stations and following turtles, amazing!
Once on board ready for a fresh salad lunch.
After lunch the crew begin to feed the sharks and larger fish from the back of the boat. I'm nearly ready, wanting to be the first one in with the black tip reef sharks, all of a sudden, this guy comes running by and jumps straight in (yes you've guessed Steve, I was sooooooo close to beating him) I follow him very quickly and we enjoy some time before the other guests jump in.
Another memorable day, relaxing, active and lots to see!!! Highly recommended.
