Strahan - Tasmania

A beautiful little town on the coast, Strahan sits well in along the shores of the Macquarie Harbour. About 6km down a white dirt road is Tasmania's longest beach approx. 30km long.  This beach has magnificent white sand beaches, yet the wind & waves coming roaring in!! Huge waves!  This port was originally developed for the mining settlements in the area, the town was know as Long Bay or Regatta Point until 1877.
We had a scenic drive around the harbour, Risby cove, Regetta Point, Mill Bay & Letts Bay to name a few. Hogarth falls at the peoples park was a very pleasant stroll.

The hills & clouds mingling.

Still in Strahan, we paid $2.50 each and when to a local's house, he finds wood that look like items below. It was the best money we have spend. Excellent imagination.
